LiDAR System
High precision LiDAR technology
AEROMEDIA was first to use LiDAR technology integrated into our drones, in southern Europe. We have participated in projects of different sizes, surveying both in civil works or powerlines.
LiDAR, short for Light Detection and Ranging is an active, remote sensing method used for an array of applications. It uses light in the form of a pulsed laser to measure ranges (variable distances) through vegetation to the Earth. The system is able to capture accurate surface data by measuring the time it takes for the laser to return to its source.
- The LiDAR unit itself, which emits pulses of light, when mounted to a UAV scanning a predefined swath below.
- A GPS receiver tracking the unit’s x,y,z coordinates.
- An IMU which stands for Inertial Measurement Unit that tracks the tilt of the unit in space to achieve accurate elevation measurements.
These equipment are much more affordable and flexible when it comes to photogrammetric flights than airplanes and helicopters.
- Cost Reduction.
- Short delivery times.
- High point densities compared to our competitors.
- Centimeter precision (<5 cm).
- Vegetation growth monitoring.
- Forest mass calculations.
- Optimized maintenance operations.
- Risk reduction.
Increased security. Minimizing the risks that may occur in field work.

The BEST sensors on the market
At AEROMEDIA we use the most sophisticated sensors on the market to be able to satisfy the needs of our clients, for this, we have 4k high definition cameras to capture in great detail the anomalies that may be found, thermal imaging cameras embedded in our latest generation drones and Own LiDAR technology.
Thanks to the use of our Drones, the risks derived from working in this type of facility are reduced. We carry out exhaustive inspections of power lines: Aerial observation of elements at height or difficult to access from the ground, we identify irregular situations or conditions that may cause some type of electrical accident.
Avoid Electrical Accidents thanks to Drones
Many of our clients demand, for a correct regulatory periodic inspection of their network, to include an inspection of critical distances from our LiDAR sensors. This inspection service has been implemented for some years together with the rest of the visual inspection techniques that we have.
We detect
Maintenance and risk observation
Inspection of the current state of the lines and their facilities
Checking switches, isolators...
Review of refrigeration systems
Verification of disconnections
Review of most critical spare parts
Photogrammetry and civil works
More exhaustive visual monitoring of the work
To date, the techniques used to obtain site measurements were rather classical. The use of total stations, levels and GPS are very accurate, but at the same time very expensive and where it takes more time to obtain less data.
With our RPAS equipped with RTK technology, we cover these needs in site control, taking into account the benefits of classical topography, photogrammetry and LiDAR data.
We have different latest generation drones with high definition cameras to carry out photogrammetry, which allows us to quantify distances, areas and surfaces.
A visual monitoring of the work will allow us to obtain a more exhaustive control of its progress, the deviations it presents with respect to the initial project, modifications and the temporary record of tasks excuted.

Great Improvement in Telecommunications in the Area
The lines of sight or LOS are lines existing between telephone stations that are visualized among themselves and there should not be any type of obstacle between them. That there is no such line of sight greatly interferes with the quality of the signal.
Obstacles such as the orography itself, the buildings or vegetation or other electrical or telephone installations, are those that will determine whether a LOS is positive or negative.
From AEROMEDIA UAV we can know what is the azimuth of view between two objectives and know the height at which there is or is not visual between them.
We use our drones equipped with cameras that have a long-range zoom, which allow us to make visuals of the order of 20 km in normal atmospheric conditions.
Benefits of using drones in inspection
Being able to indicate with certainty that there is visual or not between two objectives at a certain height is very useful for engineers who want to carry out a new telecommunications implementation, compared to traditional techniques that entailed great risks for the operator who had to climb the highest point of the tower.
- FASTER in checking sight between 2 targets.
- GREAT UTILITY to implement telecommunication systems.
- AVOID RISKS for the operator.
Wind Turbine Inspection
The Control and Monitoring you need thanks to Drones
Due to the material with which the wind turbine blades are made and their exposure to different atmospheric phenomena, they are subjected to torsions and stresses over time, giving rise to cracks and breaks in said elements.
That is why it is essential to carry out a control and monitoring of the state in which these blades are, and detect possible problems that may arise, to avoid cracks, breaks and derived repair costs.
At AEROMEDIA we use the best sensors and RPAS on the market to solve the resulting problems, providing efficiency, safety and drastically reducing inspection times and costs with traditional methods.
Our R&D department has been awarded for the development of an innovative WIND GENERATOR inspection system without the need to stop the mechanism. We are currently implementing this system, obtaining satisfactory results in time and associated costs for our clients.
We use new generation drones with high precision and definition cameras (4k).
Internal inspection without operator?
At AEROMEDIA UAV we have developed and manufactured an interior inspection system called AMROVER. Thanks to its small size, it allows you to inspect hard-to-reach or confined places.
We avoid risks of exposure to gases, inaccessible places, or susceptible to external risks. This system can be assembled with different sensors and equipped with a powerful LED spotlight that will help obtain information in poorly lit areas.

Photovoltaic Fields Inspection
We optimize your photovoltaic plant
We help you optimize your solar plant through thermographic inspections and their corresponding analysis.
A typical solar photovoltaic plant can contain various defects in the modules. Many of these defects may even go undetected by monitoring and not perform as expected.
Our drones allow a quick and easy thermographic inspection of the PV plant, without the need for supervision by the customer or owner.
Using GPS “waypoints” allows us to have an automated, consistent and accurate inspection that can be repeated over time in future inspections.
AEROMEDIA performs thermographic inspections of its PV plant, using advanced embedded systems and image recognition techniques (machine learning).
Using high resolution cameras we are able to closely inspect your PV plant for possible defects such as snail trails, connection corrosion and yellowing.
Working with a PV thermographic inspection company with an unmatched technological offering, a dedicated team, and that can provide constant and dedicated support will give you confidence in monitoring the status of the PV plant.
Aerial Thermographic Inspection
Your plant can be more efficient
You will save costs and reduce breakdowns
